Melanie Howard

Finance/HR Director

 

EDUCATION:  Melanie has her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the City University of Seattle. She is currently working towards her CPA license.

ROLE AT THE PORT:  Melanie is the Finance/HR Director for the Port of Astoria. Her accounting responsibilities include handling the annual budget and financial audit process, among other duties, and as Director she is continuously mindful of opportunities for growth and improvement within the organization.

WORK HISTORY:  Melanie started working at the Port in early 2020. She has a background in tax preparation and accounting, as well as property management, operations management, bookkeeping, and payroll.

FAMILY:  Melanie lives in Astoria and is married with a son and a daughter.

HOBBIES:  Melanie enjoys running, hiking, and camping, but living in the Northwest she is content most days to stay inside with a good book or a movie. With two young children and a dog, she stays busy chasing them around and planning fun family activities.
